Comprehensive Ophthalmology
 Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Crum maintains a broadly varied, comprehensive Ophthalmology practice with an emphasis on sutureless, small-incision cataract and anterior segment surgery, diabetic evaluations, and laser surgery. His patients include young children, older patients with macular degeneration, and people of all ages in between. In addition to caring for patients with eye diseases, Dr. Crum and his colleagues happily perform routine eye exams and fit glasses and contact lenses. Prior to joining Shasta Eye Medical Group in Redding, Dr. Crum practiced ophthalmology in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Throughout his life, Dr. Crum has acquired a sense of humor and warmth that constantly endears him to his colleagues and patients. He has developed a far-reaching reputation for complementing his excellent clinical and surgical skills with his sense of humor, and he has even been invited to lecture to ophthalmologists on his light "bedside manner" at a national eye meeting held annually in Hawaii.
Dr. Crum was raised in Fresno, California. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology with Honors from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. He then proceeded to traverse the country for the remainder of his training. His medical degree was obtained at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in North Carolina. He returned to California for his Internal Medicine internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Next, he traveled back to the southeast for his ophthalmology residency at the University of South Carolina. After completion of his residency, he practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Bowling Green, Kentucky before once again returning to California to join Shasta Eye Medical Group in Redding.
Dr. Crum's wife Karen attained a doctorate in Public Health with an emphasis in Preventive Care. Together they have two daughters and are very active in sports and church activities. They all enjoy the beauty and rich diversity of Redding and the North State Region and are proud to be members of the community.
